Israel Matzav: Russian - Saudi arms deal being held up by Israel?

Russian - Saudi arms deal being held up by Israel?

DEBKA is reporting that a $7 billion deal for Russia to sell Saudi Arabia the S-400 anti-missile system is being held up by Israeli objections to the prospect of Saudi radar tracking every plane that takes off from Israel.

The deal was promised to the Russians by the Obama administration in return for Russia agreeing to hold off on selling the S-300 anti-missile system to Iran.

Let's go to the videotape.

The original DEBKA story is here. It's not clear how Israeli objections could stop such a sale from going through. The Russians certainly don't need Israeli or American approval to make this kind of sale, and the Americans seem to have agreed not to object to it anyway.

There is something to this story, but something is missing here.

Hmmm.
