Large chunks of political and other public discourse would fail if submitted as a term paper in Logic 101. Very large chunks. Normblog has an example from yesterday's British media, which all piled on to Tony Blair for once saying what he never said. And remember: journalists and politicians often have more years of education than regular folks. They're supposed to be more sophisticated, whatever that means.
