State Department Blames Goldstone

An assistant Secretary of State muses that the aftermath of the Goldstone Report effectively halted the negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians. I don't think this is the case: the Palestinians broke off the negotiations in September 2008 when Olmert offered them too much for them to be able credibly to complain. Still, it's interesting that a high(-ish) American official would make such a statement.
