Jordanian court to hear case against two Israeli MK's
A Jordanian court has agreed to hear a case against Israeli MK's Ruby Rivlin (Likud) and Aryeh Eldad (National Union). The case alleges that the two endangered Jordan's 'security and sovereignty' by claiming that Jordan is the 'Palestinian state.'
The lawsuit by four Jordanian lawyers underlines growing anti-Israeli sentiments in the kingdom, which signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994.
The lawyers accuse Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin (Likud) and MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) of threatening Jordan's sovereignty and security.
The suit says Rivlin and Eldad called for a 'Greater Israel on both banks of the river' and for 'Jordan [to] become the alternative country for Palestinians.'
No hearing date has yet been set and it is unclear how any ruling would be implemented.
The worst that could happen would be for Jordan to declare each of them persona non grata and then they could not visit there.
The truth hurts, doesn't it?
